  4. Yes Roy,
Jim tait died had cancer a lot of years fought it well…Dont know if big Roy English worked with you ?? He did the doors in circles before going round to the start of the new palace nightclub that’s when I noticed the change for the worse in Hamilton… Drugs is a very difficult thing to stop even in nightclubs they couldnt pay me now for the shit they have to put up with….Glad my era was brilliant at that time trouble was ejected in a proper way people understood the lines not to cross with you or your colleagues and that was respected…I’m the youngest of 4 brothers Roy I’m now 56 …We all still stay in the Hamilton area its changed very very much in past 10 to 15 yr …The Town is a coup literally nothing to venture down for maybe only 3 or 4 decent pubs in Hamilton now ..Just noticed your reply big man sorry for not replying sooner ….Sock

  5. Is everyone younger than me?!

Went into Circles just after it had not long opened looking for a job behind the bar and ended up on the door. Mr (James) Mortimer and Jim Tait were around then.

Worked there from 1975-1977. Only 2 people I remember were Tony Rear and Big Neily who I worked with. If I’ve got names incorrect … I was 21 from Australia.

Went back in 1983 and it was Park Lane. Went back in 2001 and it was gone.

Ended up working for 24 years as a doorman part-time 1975-1999. Circles has special memories for me. Would go to the Accies after work. No one ever gave me drama. In those days the atmosphere was like a big party.

My father was from Blantyre. My time living in Scotland was magic.

  6. I have fond memories of Park Lane, once I was old enough to get in I never went to 3Ds again lol. Almost every Friday and Saturday night was spent there, the managers name was Ruth I believe and I remember a bouncer who I think was called “American Joe”
(please correct me if I’m wrong)
I liked to sit up at the very small bar on the left behind the dance floor with my pulling buddy Johnny McTaggart checking out at all the ladies lol, brilliant times, amazing fun laughing so much that I was actually sick on the carpet.
    Park Lane,,,, thank you xx
